| [Note: These are the program notes we wrote for the Official Best in the West Program. We know for a fact that many of the team profiles were edited to save space in the program. So, we thought we'd at least make some use of the original material by posting it up here. Additionally, with some of these teams, we've already done previews here at SoCalHoops, and where they exist, we'll link to them. |
Bellarmine College Preparatory (San Jose, CA): Coach Patrick Schneider (9th year) has two WCAL titles and 4 CIF Central Coast Section titles. Bellarmine competes against St. Ignatius and Archbishop Mitty in the WCAL, one of the toughest in NorCal. The team's best athlete is Byron Sykes (5'-11" Sr. PG) a skilled ball-handler with exceptional court skills and vision. Other players to watch for: Christino Rivera (5'-9" Jr. SG) an excellent shooter, Jason Norman (6'-3" Jr. SG/SF), a slasher with great hops; Ziki Ivy (6'-0" Sr. SG) a solid defensive player and good perimeter shooter; Aaron Williams (6'-3" Jr. F) a slashing wing player who can finish; Chris Klem (6'-1" Jr. G) another good shooter; Damien Hall (6'-2" Jr. SF) a physical scorer and tenacious defender; Chris Keene (6'-4" Sr. SF/PF) is a strong athlete who runs the floor; JB Long (6'-2" Jr. SF/PF) a crafty player will get inside and do the dirty work, and Brian McAllister (6'-1" Sr. F) who can bang inside.
