: : : : : : : : : What a complete joke the new playoff system has turned out to be . Every champions after 2AA is terrible

: : : : : : : : So you wish your sons team could of stayed in a lower division and gotten an easy ride to the championship....sorry mam that ain't the way of the system anymore, all these loaded up transfer teams have to play each other in the higher divisions
: : : : : : : : and the local neighborhood kids get to play each other in the lower divisions.

: : : : : Cypress didn’t have transfers and was ranked high and didn’t make the playoffs

: : : : : Marina was ranked high and didn’t make the playoffs

: : : : : This system is designed to reward losers

: : : :
: : : : : : : somebody be drinking the "happy juice" again. transfers will always happen. nothing wrong with it. many factors come into play so when one does not know the facts and truth and comments on things they do not know, are fools at best.

: : : : : : Big difference between a kid moving and transferring and a team suddenly loading up on 3+ transfers in basketball. Those teams are the reason this system is in place. In years past those teams were in a low division with superior talent. Now they play likewise talent and may the best man win.

: : : : They both didnt qualify in their league, Marina was 6th out of 7 teams and Cypress was 4 out of 5. Even in the old systems they would have needed an at large and the past few years there were only a few divisions that had them.

: : : Orange County's new league alignments hurt some really good teams in good leagues and helped the teams who aren't as good.

: : : The ideal situation is to be a good team in a league with a really bad team or two. Pacifica Christian and Fairmont prep were truly D1 teams, but because they had Western Christian in their league, it lowered their strength of schedule and thus their ranking.

: : : Irvine and Sage Hill drop to lower divisions because of University and St. Margaret's.

: : Did Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass come up with this stupid system? To start a season without teams placed in divisions is absolutely insane. Keep drinking the "happy juice".

: My son transferred and won CIF SS Championship. Only reason why my son transferred is local coaches lied straight up to me and my son, their mouths to our ears. We wanted to win locally to help bring championship but we moved on and now son is playing in college. Many factors come into play before transferring. Bottom line is the local school district has to let you out to transfer and in our case they did. Truth is awesome and a mighty weapon!

If the CIF cares about getting the right teams in the right divisions, then they need to have every league send one representative to CIF and have them meet right at the beginning of January where all of these coaches rank the teams from 1 to whatever 700 creating the divisions. Then, the week before the playoffs start, they meet again, and re-align the rankings. Coaches know who is sand-bagging, who is legit, and who is not. Every coach is going to have seen at least everyone else at some point. A team that has the three transfers, is not going to be able to slip down to division 5 once all 70 coaches in the room are able to vote. Once those rankings are set, then the CIF can do the playoff brackets. At least coaches would get the opportunity to speak up when teams are misplaced, and it can get corrected. It would also allow the lowest divisions, DIV 5 to actually be won by schools that only have 200 or 300 students and do things right. The tiny schools that are recruiting, are going to get called out and placed in higher divisions, and a big school that has been losing for a couple of years and now has loaded up, won't be able to win a cheap title, because coaches are going to call them out in the meetings.
