: : : : : Big difference between a kid moving and transferring and a team suddenly loading up on 3+ transfers in basketball. Those teams are the reason this system is in place. In years past those teams were in a low division with superior talent. Now they play likewise talent and may the best man win.

: : : They both didnt qualify in their league, Marina was 6th out of 7 teams and Cypress was 4 out of 5. Even in the old systems they would have needed an at large and the past few years there were only a few divisions that had them.

: : Orange County's new league alignments hurt some really good teams in good leagues and helped the teams who aren't as good.

: : The ideal situation is to be a good team in a league with a really bad team or two. Pacifica Christian and Fairmont prep were truly D1 teams, but because they had Western Christian in their league, it lowered their strength of schedule and thus their ranking.

: : Irvine and Sage Hill drop to lower divisions because of University and St. Margaret's.

: Did Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass come up with this stupid system? To start a season without teams placed in divisions is absolutely insane. Keep drinking the "happy juice".

My son transferred and won CIF SS Championship. Only reason why my son transferred is local coaches lied straight up to me and my son, their mouths to our ears. We wanted to win locally to help bring championship but we moved on and now son is playing in college. Many factors come into play before transferring. Bottom line is the local school district has to let you out to transfer and in our case they did. Truth is awesome and a mighty weapon!
