The 46th (Really, It's The 46th)
Annual Pacific Shores Tournament--(October 31, 1997)

Well, despite the confusion, I'm assured by someone who should know (the assistant Tournament Director) that this is going to be, in fact, the 46th annual Pacific Shores Tournament, and not the 48th (sorry Michael). We just got the list of teams coming, and a partial roster of players, and it looks like a great tournament is shaping up. As soon as we get the schedules, brackets and the full rosters of all the teams, we'll post those. Many thanks to Coach Jim Neilsen of Redondo Union High, and to Joe Cascio, the assistant Tournament Director of both the Pacific Shores and the Sea Hawk Classic (see our separate article for the details of that one).

In any event, this year's edition may have the best line-up of teams in tournament history. Again, the Tournament is December 1 through 6, 1997 at Redondo. The confirmed teams are:

1. Banning, Wilmington; 2. Bell; 3. Carson; 4. Christian Brothers (Memphis, Tenn); 5. Fairfax, LosAngeles ; 6. Hawthorne High; 7. Locke, Los Angeles ; 8. L.B.Jordan; 9. Mira Costa; 10. Morningside, Inglewood; 11. Palisades High; 12. Redondo Union; 13. Serra, Gardena; 14. St. Bernard, Playa Del Rey ; 15. Torrance ; 16. West Torrance.

The Tournament will feature some of the top players in SoCal. As listed by Dino Trigonis in "Full Court Press" they are:
