2nd Annual Reebok Compton Tip-Off
Classic: Starts Today--(Nov. 30, 1998)

This is sort of like hypnosis:  If we say it enough, maybe you'll get the idea and come out to Compton College today and tomorrow for the 2nd Annual Reebok Compton Tip-Off Classic.

You're getting sleepy.  Your eyes are heavy.  You can read every word of this even though you are now in a deep trance. You love basketball.  You will go to Compton today.  You will watch basketball.   You will watch great basketball.  Basketball played  by some of the top D-I prospects in SoCal.  You will not remember anything about this message after you awaken,  except that you will go to Compton.  Today. At 4:30 p.m.

You will awaken when I snap my fingers on the count of three.  One, two, three.

There now.

Ok, it's not like you haven't heard this before, but we're going to do this one more time.  The 2nd Annual Reebok Compton Tip-Off Classic starts today at 4:30 with Ayala playing Serra at 4:30 p.m.  at Compton College, followed by Long Beach Jordan vs. Riverside J.W. North at 6:00 p.m. and then concluding with Long Beach Poly vs. Bishop Montgomery at 7:30 p.m.

And that's just for today.  Tomorrow, December 1, Pomona will take on the Bishop's School from La Jolla at 5:00 p.m., and then the really big guns come out as Compton Dominguez will play Crossroads at 6:30, and then Compton plays Lynwood at 8:00 p.m. 

And tomorrow night, all of you Cedric Ceballos fans should get ready for a little surprise, because Etop Udo-Ema tells us that Cedric, himself a graduate of Dominguez, plans to show up and not only watch all the action, but he'll be a guest D.J., which means that it will be party time when the Dons roll into the gym.

We've already told you a gazillion times about each of these teams, but just in case somebody missed it, here's the schedule with links to our previews of each of the teams competing, so if you're unfamiliar with the players or coaches, at least you'll have some idea of what you're going to see.   

You'll want to catch all of these games. Compton College, is located at 1111 E. Artesia Boulevard, Compton, CA 90221 (just thought we'd throw in the zip code for you anyway in case you want to mail yourself there ahead of time). To get to Compton College if you are coming from the North (i.e., the Valley, Pasadena, anywhere north of Compton: If you are coming from the Westside or the Valley, take either the 405 or the 110 Harbor Freeway south to the 91. Take the 91 east and take the Alameda Street offramp, and go north about a block to Artesia Blvd, and turn right. The college will be on your
left (north). The gym entrance is off of Artesia on Delta Ave. If you are coming from the northeast (Pasadena) take the 710 Long Beach Freeway south to the 91 west, and get off on Santa Fe/Alameda (it's the first exit after the interchange). If you're coming from the south, just reverse the freeway directions. However you do it, you want to get to the 91 and exit at Alameda or Santa Fe.
