: Great year of girls high school ball. I went to a lot of games last year amongst the top teams in SoCal. I’m sure it will be just as good this year. Based on what I know, here are my predictions for the powerhouse rankings:

: 1. Ontario Christian(followed them a lot last season. Special k is the real deal. They play an exciting brand of hoops, coached really well and their incoming freshmen is the best in country. They need a big to be able to beat the elite but I’m sure they’ll get one. They competed and beat a lot of teams with what they had so I can’t even imagine what they’ll do with a loaded roster).

: 2. Etiwanda(it’s slightly disrespectful to not put the champs at 1 but losing Kennedy Smith is bad. Morris is solid but she’s not taking over games. Also saw that Knox left the school. They got another big girl coming in but she’s just big. I’d take Knox over her any day. A lot of girls transferring out but we already know Stan is recruiting his next batch).

: 3. Sierra Canyon(it’s the Jerzy show over there. Kids don’t wanna play with Jerzy. She elite talent but it’s seems to only be about her. Nonetheless, she’s still the top in her class and I already know Sierra canyon is recruiting some kid out of Cali and out of the states).

: 4. Mater dei(not sure how good they’ll be with kiernan retirement by. He made that engine run. Don’t know much about the new hire but their best freshmen already left to etiwanda. I’m sure they’ll get some transfers just based on the name but losing their Duke commit hurts big time).

: 5. Bishop montgomery(they return almost everyone after their state run. Blackmon is a stud and reed will have a breakout season. I definitely see them as a top 5 team).

: 6. Windward(they have some youth and some vets but I think they’ll be one of the better teams nonetheless.

: No one else really matters. I feel these are the best 6. Anyone below this probably won’t even come close to even the 6 spot.

: Who ya got?

I agree on these but add......

Sage Hill- Yes they lost a lot but they are reloading and will be formidable

Brentwood- Return one of the top players in So Cal. Great guards

Chaminade- Hear they have a full team of transfers coming

Harvard Westlake- Return their whole team from last years State Championship

Moreno Valley- An absolute lock OPEN team. Return everyone. Can be in the top 4 conversation

Buena Park- Also returns their whole team. Super tough next year. Coach will bring in more kids also
