This makes me so angry! I agree with the original poster here who is asking some good questions. Somebody please talk to the AD about stopping this imbalance. While you’re at it, talk to the principals as well. My child got a D in one of her classes last semester while many other kids got A’s. Someone’s got to pull those “A” kids back and tell them to “dumb it down” a bit because they’re embarrassing my child. And don’t say my child needs to study more. When is she going to have time to hang at the mall with her boyfriend if she’s got her head in a book every once in a while?
And these kids who are already getting A’s are also answering the extra credit questions on the tests! Where is the classmanship?? Why are these teachers encouraging these kids to continue to learn when they’re already so far above my kid and a lot of the other kids in the class? The teachers should ask their A students to sit out a few tests so those kids who are in the class just to socialize and have fun can get a chance.
I know one of these kids who is already getting an “A” also sees a tutor and takes summer classes! Apparently she wants to get into a good college. How is my kid supposed to compete with someone who is so dedicated and works so hard? It’s not fair! This girl likes school and would take MORE tests if she could! It’s ridiculous. The teacher should make this kid sit out some tests so my kids can have a shot at getting the best score on a test for once.
I could write much more about this, but I have to drive my daughter to the mall. Thanks to the original poster for calling out this issue. Sports should NOT be about competing and doing one's best. Leave that to cooking competition shows. By the way, on the most recent Top Chef, I thought Ruby should have added more paprika than she needed to her dish when she saw how badly Mike's dish was going. That was really unchefsman of her to have a much more delicious dish than Mike's.

: : Can someone please explain the recent trend of good teams running up scores against sub par teams? I've recently seen Ontario Christian leave starters in while pressing and pushing the ball in transition to win by 107 (yes 107!). What good does having a player score 63 when it comes against JV quality players? Yesterday South Pasadena beat a 3-12 Monrovia team 121-10. Two S. Pas players had a combined for 80pts on 51 combined shot attempts. I just don't understand, where are the school administrators? How are athletic directors ok with this? Someone please explain. And before some tells me that it's the bad teams fault save it, there are plenty of bench kids that could be playing and coaches can pull off presses and traps earlier. Where is the sportsmanship? Just a frustrated observer here.
