Why should a team be in a division based on last year's team (or 2 years ago)? Those kids are gone. A team like Lynwood or Bosco Tech games the system to drop as low as possible knowing they're bringing in an entire AAU team, those kids come in and all of a sudden Lynwood or Bosco Tech just destroy everything in their path. That's a better system? Those teams were nowhere near 5AA in that particular year. In the current model they would've been somewhere around 3A or 3AA, which was where their talent level actually was. You can thank schools like them (and they're not the only ones, they're just easy to remember) for the change. The current system is far better than that
