: : : : As a Tarbabe alum, I get that Tony Thomas left. Problems with the administration, the lack of an actual campus, etc. But damn, what the hell happened?!?!?

: : : : Against what appears to be a somewhat average to low-level strength of schedule, we have scored less than 40 points in 8 of 14 games (with 3 more games with 40-something). We have two games with less than 20 points. And three games with only 20-something points!

: : : : In four Moore League games, we have given up an average of 96 points per game! (Shout out to the Lakewood Lancers - my wife's alma mater - for "only" scoring 82 against us!) Cabrillo, Jordan and LBP scored 101, 100 and 99 prior to the Lakewood game. Should I be happy about that "steady improvement"...?!?!?

: : : : So we now have one of the worst offenses in the area, "fortified" by one of the worst defenses in the area. LOL, whoaaa! We have hit some really hard times! I don't know this new coach, but I do hope we can turn this around and at least get back to decent!

: : : Saw them in the fall (granted not always full roster) and from what I saw they could have hired John Wooden and it wouldn't be much better. Severe lack of talent on the roster.

: : For years we have had more talent than our results would indicate (even in the title year), but now apparently the cupboard is before.

: big worm you go over and coach in the Cpt. You seem well equipped to handle that task.

Sadly, I am not well equipped for the job. And with the obstacles they have now (no real HS quality campus), I am not sure any coach can truly succeed there until the new campus and facilities are really. And even then it will be interesting to see what we can do. Even when our 3 Compton schools were at their most competitive, we have always lost athletes to other schools in other cities, both public and private, and that trend isn't likely to end soon. In fact, it seems to have gotten worse in the past 10+ years. But maybe, just maybe, once the new campus and facilities are ready, maybe we can't get some of the glory back. So like I said in my first post, I'm rooting for this new coach to turn things around.
