Dick Vitale Picks La Cresha Clark--(October 31, 1997)

Not much new in the papers this morning, but the LA Times did have this tidbit: Seems that Dick Vitale's College Basketball Magazine has picked former College of the Canyons player La Cresha Clark, who's now playing at New Mexico State, as one of the top 15 junior college women's transfers in the country. Clark, who's a 5'-7" guard, was on last year's College of the Canyons team which lost in the JC State Championship Finals to Ventura College. Vitale has ranked the Ventura women's team as the eighth best nationally, something which we find very interesting since such rankings really don't mean very much, because unlike the rest of the country, which plays in the National Junior College Athletic Association finals in Kansas, California JC's (or "Community Colleges" as they are properly known) do not compete nationally; they only compete with other California CC's.
