Signings--(November 18, 1997)
While we're on the subject of Idaho basketball today, here's some news of a couple of signings for the University of Idaho Vandals (isn't that just about the best name in college sports?). Idaho has signed two guards during the early signing period: Nathanial Watson, (6'-4" G) from Eastglen High in Edmonton, Alberta, who graduated two years ago, and has been on a Mormon mission since that time, and Anthony Lewis (6'-4" Sr. G) from Franklin High in Seattle.
Both are left handers, and have fine shooting abilities. Lewis averaged 14 ppg and 8.2 assists, and was named to the All-Metro team in Seattle last year, and received the top honors as the All-Metro defensive player of the year.
"With his age and experience, Nathaniel offers a high level of maturity,'' said Vandals coach Dave Farrar, in his first year at Idaho. He believes that Watson's "tremendous shooting skills'' and "competitive charisma'' are exactly what Idaho needs next season.
