Rick Barry is a HoopRat--(November 22, 1997)

Last night I spoke briefly with former NBA great Rick Barry, who was at the Clipper game watching his son Brent matchup against the greatest player ever to play the game (besides Rick, of course). The interesting thing was that Rick was decked out is some really nice clothing, (a nice collared polo shirt and a hat) which had an interesting logo-- a funny looking rat and a basketball. Pretty cool. And right there, above the logo were the words "HOOP RAT". Really, very cool.

I asked Rick about the clothing. He said it was a new line that he's promoting. They don't have a website (at least he seemed unsure of what I was saying when I asked him if they had a site. . .he mumbled something, and then gave me an "888" number to call-- ah, technology strikes again).

This is certainly not a product endorsement (although I can't wait to get my hands on those shirts and hats), and really has nothing to do with "Pro Basketball" but I couldn't think of anything else to call this report. Anyway, if you want to find out about this clothing, Rick says the number is 1-888-HoopRat. And for those who are alphabetically challenged, that would be 1-888-466-7728. Rick also says you should see the clothing start to hit the stores shortly before Christmas.
