Antelope Valley College Beats College
of the Canyons--(November 23, 1997)

There's a ton of small college and JC basketball in SoCal this time of year. In an early season game last night, Antelope valley College defeated a strong College of the Canyons team 84-70. Woodley Polynice (Olden's little brother) scored 24 ponts and had nine rebounds for the Canyons Cougars in the losing effort. John Burrell of the AV Marauders, who are now 3-1 on the season, matched Polynice with 24 points. Canyons, the alma mater of former Bell-Jeff point guard (and now assistant JV coach at Chaminade) Brian Camacho, is 1-1 for the season.
