American
Roundball Corp. (ARC)
Winter League--(November 19, 1997)
What do Byron Scott, Jason Kidd, the Collins twins, Arthur Lee, Tracy Murray, and more college and local high school players all have in common? They've all played in a league sponsored by Rich Goldberg's American Roundball Corporation. American Roundball Corporation (ARC) is a competitive and instructional league for all age groups, and for both boys and girls, from grade 1 through varsity high school basketball.
ARC is holding registration for its Winter session "instructional league" for boys and girls in grades 1-8 on Saturday at 9 a.m. at North Hollywood High. The "instructional league" is for those kids who want to play in a regularly scheduled league against teams of similar ability, with professional instruction and coaching, but who may not be ready yet for traveling all-star team or tournament competition. It's more competitive and offers better development than any park league, and offers young players the chance to work on specific skills, learn how to run plays, develop defense and learn proper fundamentals. Players will be placed on teams coached by some of the areas finest high school and college coaches.
ARC holds practices on Saturdays at gyms in the San Fernando Valley; games are held on Sunday, and are officiated by two officials.
We'll have a full review of ARC, it's history, the tournaments it sponsors, and the league play in the next few days.
For now though, if you're interested in participating in the instructional winter league, contact Rich Goldberg at (818) 995-3761.
