Temecula Tourney Announcement: Inflight
Basketball Tournament--(January 2, 1998)

So there really is life and hoops in San Diego, as we're finding out from our friend Pat McKinney. And there are some AAU tournaments as well, as you can see from our own Tournaments listings here at SoCalHoops.

We just got word on another from Mike Livacarri, and it's called the Inflight Basketball Annual Tournament.

Inflight Basketball is located in Temecula, down in San Diego County, and the tournament will take place from March 20-22. This is the second year of this tournament, and last year there were 37 teams participating, including the Long Beach Sixers, IEBP (Inland Empire), Rancho Bernardo, and quite a few others. All games will be held in the City of Temecula at Temecula Valley High School, Cahparral High, Linfield High, and at the Temecula Community Recreation Center. We presume the finals will all be at Temecula High, but we haven't received word on that yet. The tournament is for High School teams, 15 and Under, 14 and U, 13 and U, 12 and U, 11 and U, and 10 and U. We haven't heard yet whether it's just boys, or will also feature girls teams. As soon as we know, we'll let everyone in on it too. The games will be 16 minute halves, stop-clock. And the entry fee is $225.00 per team. We have not heard what the guaranteed minimum is for games, but if it's like most tournaments, it's probably three.
