USA Today
Super 25 Regional
Rankings--Week 5--(January 16, 1998)
Curiously, USA Today's Online site does not date the "Super 25" polls that recruiting analyst Dave Krider compiles. So we're sort of left to guess just exactly when each poll is supposed to have been issued. Instead the polls are labeled "Week 1", "Week 2" and so on. Since the season started December 1 (in most places), and since the poll which is currently up at USA Today is entitled "Week 5", this would be the poll through the first week in January, right? Or maybe it's through the second week in January? We really can't tell, and even the information on the National Super 25 failed to jibe with what we know about No. 18 ranked Westchester's schedule. USA Today, for example says that Westchester will play Manual Arts "next Wednesday". We've searched the LA City section schedules, and just can't find a "Wednesday" game against Manual Arts. Friday, January 16, yes, but no Wednesday game. Oh well, here's the "Week 5" Super 25 Regional rankings, with the West Region (which is of most interest to those of us here in SoCal anyway) listed first:
