Moore League Report:
Compton, Millikan Win--(January 29, 1998)

Here's the news from some of the South Bay and Central LA games played in the Moore League yesterday:

Compton 80, Wilson 49

The Tarbabes (19-3 5-0 league) used their size and speed to take a 20-point lead into halftime and they cruised from there to an easy victory over the visiting Bruins (5-15, 11-4). DeAndre Moore led Compton with 15 points, seven assists and five steals while David Hamilton and Ellis Myles chipped in with 13 and 10 points, respectively. Trayvon Carter had 19 points to pace Wilson and Pierre Woods also tossed in 14 in a losing effort.

Millikan 80, Lakewood 58

The starting backcourt of Antoine Griffin and Jay Meadows went to the free throw line a 29 times and finished with a combined for 42 points as the Rams (3-18, 1-4) had no problems downing the Lancers (7-14, 1-4). Griffin finished with 27 points while Meadows wound up with 15. Lionel Benjamin led Lakewood with 28 points.
