FINALLY, SOME INLAND EMPIRE/RIVERSIDE HOOPS NEWS!!

We managed to track down some scores and information on hoop news from the Inland Empire and Riverside areas. There's not a lot of detail, but it's much better than what we've been used to seeing from that area of SoCal. . . which is usually nothing. So here's some news of the Citrus League, and teams such as Fontana, Eisenhower, Lake Arrowhead, and more. Enjoy.

1998 Hemet/Riverside Mustang Shootout Tournament

GETTING BIGGER: West Valley High (Hemet/Riverside) athletic director Jim Zimmerman said last week that he expects the Mustang Shootout boys basketball tournament to expand to 24 teams this next December, which would make it the largest prep basketball tournament in Riverside County. West Valley had a waiting list of teams for the 1997 tournament, which was won by Moreno Valley Rancho Verde, and for the first time the tournament was dominated by big schools. Zimmerman said he expects to play 12 games at Mt. San Jacinto College and that schools will still get a four-game guarantee.
