Harvard-Westlake
v. Loyola:
The Full Stats--(January 13, 1998)
As we told you last night, Harvard-Westlake's streak of 29 straight games is now history, as they were defeated by Loyola last night in HW's second Mission League game of the year. We had some of the stats, but not all of them. Actually we did have all the stats on Harvard-Westlake's side of the column accurately (all except Pat Biggerstaff's 2 points), but we didn't have Loyola's at all.
Here they are:
Harvard Westlake:
Russell Lakey 24 points, Todd Kurihawa 7, Alex Minn 16, Pat Biggerstaff 2, Alex Holmes 11, Eric Geffner 4.
Loyola: Billy Neil 2, Ryan Mollins 24, Matt Mora 6, Gordon Hallman 16, Gordon Ewing 4, Darryl Meigs 4, Robert Archer 13.
We also had the scoring by quarters pretty much right: First quarter, 14-9 Loyola, Second quarter 24-11 Loyola, Third quarter 16-14 Harvard-Westlake, Fourth quarter 28-17 Harvard-Westlake.
The interesting thing about Loyola's scoring is that these are the same seven players, and the only seven who also scored in Loyola's win over St. Francis last Friday night. So a word of warning to all the other Mission League coaches out there: These are the guys you'll be playing, so get ready.
