Southern Section Report: Redondo
Wins, Bishop Amat Loses--(February 24, 1998)

We got a message from our friends at Redondo Union tonight about their second round playoff game against Biship Amat. Here it is:

This was easily the hardest fought game I have seen all year. Redondo ended up winning 74-59, but for 3 quarters, it was anyone's game. Redondo attacked with defensive pressure and fast breaks, and A mat countered with tough perimeter shooting. The game came down to foul shots in the second half, with Redondo shooting 19 of 23, while Bishop Amat made 2 out of only 3 attempts. Marcus Moore (Jr. PG)led all scorers with 22 points for Redondo. He also had 9 assists, 7 rebounds, and 5 steals. For Bishop Amat, Jason Smoot (Sr. SG) had 18 points on 6 of 8 3-pointers. Andrew Zahn (So. C) had 16 points, 10 boards & 4 blocks for the Sea Hawks, who will play Pacifica at a neutral site to be determined on 2/25/98.

We knew that. Now you do too.
