Vegas Prep Tourney: A First Round Score:--(December 29, 1997)

The Vegas Prep Tourney is rather new, and is considered the younger cousin of the more well-known Reebok tourney. Both are played at Durango and Cimmaron High Schools.

We reported an announcement for this one, but so far the news from the tourney has been sparse. This is considered by many to be the "second" tier tournament held in Las Vegas following the Reebok Holiday Prep Classic: It's the "Las Vegas Prep Championship". They've got their own website, but as of now, there's nothing up on it from the games. We're still hoping for some news soon. If you want to check it out, go to http://www.vsnlv.com, maintained by Varsity Sports Network. They were the "official" website of the Reebok Prep Classic as well, and we appreciate the fine stat keeping that their staff did at the games, and the fine work they did reporting the scores. The reporting of game details is a bit light for our tastes, but judge for yourselves. It's worth a look.

And until they get their site up and running, here is one game we found reported from Saturday's second round: Woodbridge 69, Sacramento Del Campo 61. Charles Clark had 16 points and nine rebounds for Woodbridge in a second-round game. Gavin Clifford had 14 points and Shane Harris had 11 points for the Warriors, who improved to 8-4.
