Valley
College Sets Some
Records for Threes--(December 11,1997)
Valley College set school records for points and three-pointers in a 127-67 rout of Hancock JC Tuesday night at Valley College. Gianandrea Marcaccini came off the bench to shoot six for six on three-pointers, and score 26 points for the Monarchs, who made 16 three-pointers in all.
Valley shot 62% overall, making 47 of 76 shots attempted. Steve Eernisse scored 15 points, Ronnie Noel had 14 points and eight assists, and Pierre Elize and Leon Brisport each added 13 points. Other scoring for Valley was Tyree Williams with 12 points and Faheem Nelson with 11 points for the Monarchs. Valley is now 7-3 on the season, and is now ranked 13th in the state among California Community Colleges. Community and JC's in California do not play in the National Junior College Athletics Association, which curiously enough was originally formed by all California JC's, among them Compton College which won one of the first JC National Championships.
