Sonora Game Notes:
Berokoff Rips It Up--(December 12,1997)

No we're not referring to his National Letter of Intent which he signed November 19 to play for the San Diego State Aztecs.

Nope. Not that.

We're referring to the competition on Wednesday night in a non-league game at Fullerton between Sonora and Esperanza.

Berokoff (6'-3" Sr. SG) from La Habra's Sonora scored 24 points, including four three-pointers to lead Sonora to an 80-61 win. Marqui Worthy, whom we're told is some sort of relation to James Worthy ( :- ) had 18 points. Sonora was ranked fifth in the preseason Orange County Register poll. Sonora took a 12 point lead at the half and built on that in the third quarter, eventually winning by 19 points. Dough Brown had 11 points for Esperanza in the loss.
