There were several games played yesterday at the Santa Barbara Tournament. Some we have details of, and others we don't. Here are the results:

Channel Islands beat St. Joseph 89-83 in overtime

Here are the games we got details on:

Dos Pueblos 88, El Modena 54:

Shantay & Co. just killed El Modena. Legans had 14 points, nine steals and 11 assists, one steal short of a triple double. The Chargers, scored 35 points in the second quarter and took a 60-22 lead at halftime before bringing in the subs for most of the final two quarters. Phil Sherman, DP's coach remarked that "It was close for a while, then we went on a spurt.'' But DP was relentless with the press, both full court and half court trapping, and El Modena repeatedly and regularly turned the ball over. Alex Jenkins added 16 points and eight rebounds for DP, while Dan Hoefer added 14 points and seven rebounds. Ryan Holbrook scored all 11 of his points in the first half. DP improved to 9-2, and will play in the modified "championship" round against Desert Mountain today at 5:00 pm at Santa Barbara High

Art Gutierrez had 18 points, five steals and four assists as San Marcos improved to 3-0 in the tournament and 9-1 overall. The Royals didn't shoot well, making only 25 of 62 shots, but made up for it with a good defensive effort over the final three periods. Randy Moharram and Brook Billings each played well defensively, and Gutierrez continued to keep the offense going, as between he and Billings, SM went on a 12-6 run. ``We didn't shoot as well as usual but we played some pretty good defense,'' said Royals senior Sonny Oden, who scored 12 points. Jordan McOwen led the Royals on the boards with eight rebounds.

Rovsek, who led Bishop with 14 points and 13 rebounds, scored the first two points in overtime and Sam Adcock added a free throw to put Bishop up by three. Joe Lammers then made two free throws with 14 seconds left to secure the win. Bishop coach John Ward was happy that his team overcame the 84-55 loss to Moorpark Saturday. "What I liked was we came back and played with more mental toughness,'' he said. "No one was happy with how we played (against Moorpark). Tonight, just by being tough mentally we put ourselves in position to tie at the end and win in overtime. I'm very happy with the improvement."
