Orange
Holiday Classic: You
Wanted OC Stuff, You Got It.--(December 29, 1997)
This may not be as detailed as most of our readers are used to seeing, but we've been inundated with requests for information and coverage on Orange County hoops. So here's all we can find. And then some.
The Orange Holiday Classic is yet another Orange County tourney. We don't have a clue where it's being played, and are counting on some of you folks to tell us. In the meantime, it looks like it has featured some fine out of state teams and some great local SoCal talent.
On Saturday, Fountain Valley beat Auburn (Wash.) 69- 54. Fountain Valley made 27 of 29 free throws, as Ryan Moreau scored 26 points and Jeff Derr had 14 for the Barons, who are now 7-4 on the year. In another Orange Holiday Classic game, the Time's No. 1 ranked team, Santa Margarita beat Laguna Hills 63- 46 on Ryan Forehan-Kelly's shooting. He scored 17 points as Santa Margarita advanced to the semifinals, which will be played today (Monday) against Tustin. Dekker McKeever of SM scored 12 points for the Eagles, who improved to 11-0 with the win.
Again, we hate to sound needy, but if anyone knows anything else about the teams playing here, schedules, stats or anything else, post it up. We'll also try checking the line scores and if we can we'll put up the results if we find any.
There, are you happy now?
