And the
Dubious Achievement Award Goes To:
La Sierra College Women--(December 3,1997)
Here's a little item from today's Long Beach Press Telegram that's just too awful to be made up.
Just when things seem like they can't get any worse, they do. The women's basketball team at La Sierra College, which is 0-8 on the season, thought they couldn't possibly get worse.
They did.
Last night they played the University of Redlands.
Check this out:
La Sierra made just 1 of 16 shot attempts in the first half.
And it got worse.
In the second half they were 1 for 25.
They finished with a shooting percentage of .049.
Redlands, not showing any mercy, had a field day. They sank 50 of their 107 shots (.470), and had a 56-17 advantage in turnovers.
Redlands had 40 steals in the game.
Twelve of the Redlands players had as many field goals as the entire La Sierra team.
The final score: Redlands 110, La Sierra 9.
