Laguna Blanca
Tournament:
Campbell Hall Wins--(December 14,1997)
We barely heard about this tournament which was played last week and this weekend at Laguna Blanca. For those who don't know, Laguna Blanca is not in Laguna, it's not in Laguna Hills, and generally it's not in the southern part of Orange County at all. Instead, it's a school which is located in the Ventura-Southern Santa Barbara area, and plays in the Condor League, a league of small private schools such as Cate, Cornerstone Christian, Durn, Happy Valley, Midland, Oak Grove, Ojai Valley, Thacher School, and Villanova Prep.
We have no idea who else played in this Tournament, but we do know that Coast Union lost to Campbell Hall in the Championship game Saturday. We also know that Brandon Woodard scored 21 points and had 13 rebounds for Campbell Hall.
Oh yeah, we also know that Campbell Hall won by only three points, 67-64.
Josh Glass, who played for last summer's Team Los Angeles 15-16 Maccabi Team which won a bronze medal in Seattle, was selected most valuable player, and had 18 points and six steals in Saturday's Championship game. Aaron Kerr, also of Campbell Hall, scored 17 points.
Campbell Hall improved it's record to 6-0 with the win.
Matt Jennt was the leading scorer for Coast with 24 points.
Congratulations to Campbell Hall and to MVP Josh Glass from SoCalHoops.
