Brea Backyard Bash Tourney
Won By Host Brea Olinda--(December 7,1997)

Not surprisingly, the host Brea Olinda boys' basketball team, (Chris McMillian (5"-10" Sr PG), Kyle Dodd (5'-11" Jr PG), Daniel Kalcevich (6'-0" Sr SG), Deonta Birdsong (5'-10" Jr PG), Andre Pennington (5'-10" Sr PG), Kirk Reimer (6'-2", So. PF/C), Sean Hefferly (6'-2" Sr SF), Michael Davern (6'-3" So SF), Jerett Skrifvars (6'-3" Jr SG/SF), Reid Carlson, (6'-3" Sr. SG) Andy Mogensen (6'-4" Sr SF), Rasuli Webster (6'-4" Sr SF), Rick Boehm (6'-4" Sr PF/C) and Jeff Mason (6'-6" Sr PF/C) took the Championship Title honors by beating visiting Esperanza, winning 87-73.

Chris McMillan had a great game, scoring 34 points as Brea Olinda completed a four-game sweep to win the tournament. Brea Olinda's Reid Carlson also scored 23 points for the Wildcats, who are now 4-0 on the season. We suspect that this Brea Olinda team will win the Orange League Championship, and go deep into the playoffs behind the fine guard play of McMillian, who has signed a National Letter of Intent to play at Montana next year, and behind fine junior point guard Kyle Dodd.

Congratulations to Tourney Champions Brea Olinda, and to Runner-up Esperanza.
