Tourney Update:
Hamilton v. Agoura From A Reader--(December 12,1997)
When we did our report yesterday on the Hamilton-Agoura game, which was won by Agoura 81-74, we requested any of our readers attending the BH Tourney to send us reports on the games, so that we might gain a better insight than just reading the box or line scores in the papers.
Well D yIppie DyIppie@aol.com sent us this report on the Hamilton loss to Agoura which may shed some light on why Deloach only had 4 points in the game; it also leads us to ask how many more points Lang might have scored had he not been benched: as it was he had 26 in the game.
Anyway, here's the report:
Hamilton coach benched two starters (Deloach and Lang) for all of first quarter and part of second, because they were late to pre game (no meeting just late and they claimed to have had car trouble).
Lang scored 16 points in less than 6 minutes in the second quarter. But he was once again on bench at end of thrid quarter and start of fourth when Agoura put another run on to regain lead they had actually lost in third.
With Hamilton spreading its defense (in a pitiful attempt at either a man to man full court or a never did work half court trap), Agoura never did have to prove that they could hit a shot over five feet. . .
Well, at least it's some perspective. Thanks D yIppie for the news.
