Daily Pilot Tourney--(December 9,1997)

Seems the Daily Pilot, the local Newport Beach paper which is owned by the LA Times is getting into the business of sponsoring High School Boys' Basketball Tournaments. And it's a good thing too. First there was the Daily Pilot Tip Off Classic last week, and during the 26th through the 30th of December Estancia High will host the 13th Annual Daily Pilot Coast Classic.

This is an eight-team tourney, with pool play format for the first three days, then a championship round on Tuesday, Dec. 30. Corona del Mar joins host Estancia as the two locals involved, with Montclair, Rialto, Antioch, Edison, Pitt Meadows and Glendale Hoover rounding out the field.

December 26:

Glendale Hoover vs. Montclair 2:30
Corona del Mar vs. Rialto 4:10
Antioch vs. Edison 5:50
Pitt Meadows vs. Estancia-- 8:00
