USC Schedule, Midnight Madness Too!--(Sept. 9, 1998)

We understand from "BibbyBaby" (at http://www.uschoops.com) that the University of Southern California has scheduled its own west coast version of "Midnight Madness" for October 16th at 10 p.m.. Presumably, the event will take place at the Sports Arena, but that hasn't been announced yet to our knowledge. If it's like most other such events, the Trojan variant of Midnight Madness will feature contests, prizes, probably the usual one year free tuition to the lucky student who makes a half-court shot. . . . and so on. Maybe they'll get Traveler into the gym for a game of . . . what else, horse.

USC's exhibition season will get under way a few weeks later, and then on on November 18, 1998 the non-conference games begin. A few games have been rescheduled since the tentative calendar was first issued this year. Those who want to see the Trojans' football game with UCLA and the USC basketball game at UNLV— both originally scheduled for Nov. 21 — can now do so. The basketball game has been moved to Nov 20, Friday night, while the football game is now scheduled for 12:30 Saturday at the the Rose Bowl. Similarly, the Trojans' non-conference opener against San Diego State at the Sports Arena, originally set for Nov. 18, will be played instead on the 17th. Here's a brief look at the Trojan schedule:
