Stanley Thorne Commits To
Loyola-Marymount U--(Sept. 27, 1998)

Stanley Thorne Jr., (5'-9" Sr. PG) from Fairfax, who is just lightning quick, and who previously played with Mike Lewis' ABC Hoops squad, has committed to Loyola-Marymount University. Stanley will make a great addition to LMU, which just loves quick, smart, little points, and obviously they are looking for someone to replace Haywood Eaddy (5'-4" Sr. PG) who only weighs 140 lbs, and who will graduate by the time Stanley enrolls. The only question is whether Stanley is too tall.

Stanley played pretty well yesterday at the Rim Rattler Fall Showcase, and among the highlights were he and Tito Maddox going at each other. Tito is good, he's tall, but nowhere as quick as Stanley, and the crowd was going nuts watching Stanley try to break Tito's ankles. Now if only Stanley could pass half as accurately in traffic as Tito, or dunk. . . .
