4 "D" Tournament Correction:
SCA Is Only The Young Varsity Guys--(Sept. 4, 1998)

Yesterday, we wrote about the varsity division, and noted that the Southern California All-Star team would be appearing at the tournament on Saturday, and we were originally informed that the SCA team would feature the older Dominguez players who last appeared on the squad when SCA appeared at the Nike National Championships in late July and early August.

Well, we were wrong. Tyson Chandler (7'-0" So. C), Keith Kincaide (6'-6" Sr. SF), Jaffus Haley (6'-0" Sr. G), Cedric Thompson (6'-5" Jr. F), Mika McKinney (6'-2" Jr. G), Steve Moore (6'-3" Jr. G), James Jackson (5'-9" Sr. G), and Donald James (5'-8" Sr. G) all of Dominguez, will not be appearing in this tournament.

Instead, according to Pat Barrett whom we spoke with this afternoon, only the "younger guys" will be playing. Even though Tyson is "young," we were told directly that he won't be playing. Keilon Fortune (6'-1" So. PG), will be there. Darius Sanders (6'-4" Fr. G) from Compton, Mike Strawberry (6'-2" Fr. G), and some other underclassmen will be there too.
