Puerto Rico Shootout Pairings Announced:
UCLA Gets USF--(Sept. 5, 1998)

Defending national champion Kentucky will face Colorado in the first round of the Thanksgiving weekend Puerto Rico Shootout tournament, UK announced Friday. The Nov. 26 game, scheduled to tip off at 1:30 p.m. EST, will be the first-ever basketball meeting between the schools. Other first-round matchups in the eight-team tournament, which opens Thanksgiving Day, include Xavier vs. Pittsburgh, Maryland vs. American-Puerto Rico and UCLA vs. San Francisco. Brackets for the tournament were released this week by the tournament committee. The winner of the Kentucky-Colorado game is to face the winner of Xavier vs. Pittsburgh in the second round on Nov. 27. The championship game is scheduled for Nov. 28.
