Brandon Hawkins Journals:
Word From The East--(Sept 18, 1998)

We heard today from Brandon Hawkins (6'-3" Prep. PG/SG ) formerly of Los Angeles Crenshaw High who is now attending prep school at St. Thomas More. Brandon is a mid to high D-I talent, who should get some interest this year from a couple of major schools. He was slated to attend Metro State University in Denver, a D-II school but determined that he would better his chances by attending a year of prep school. We hope that Brandon's letters and reports from the East will become a regular feature here at SoCalHoops. Here's his latest letter:

Well what's up? You said to keep in touch, so I will. We are doing awesome up here. Nick Vander Laan is doing awesome and so is the other 7 footer from St. Anthony's, Josh Moore. We have a deck team this year. We go to Providence next weekend to play in a big tournament. I will be running the one like i told you last. We play Maine Central Institute the third game of the season; can you believe that. I have already talked to some Big East contenders schools, and some Big Twelve contenders since I have been here. I think this will be a great move for me.

I will keep in touch, and I will send you the roster next time.
