New Mexico Looking Good For
Rafael Berumen--(Sept. 10, 1998)

Rafael Berumen (6'-9" Sr. C) from Simi Valley continues to look at Cal, USC, and New Mexico, and each of these schools remains involved with Rafael, but following a home visit two days ago with New Mexico, it's looking more and more like Rafael will wind up with the Lobos, especially if fellow Rockfish Dalron Johnson (6'-9" Sr. C) accepts the final scholarship from Cal, which by no means is a done deal following Dalron's visit with Bill Bayno at UNLV this past week. Remember, Cal has only one scholarship left to offer, and they're looking at more than 4 different players for that last spot, including Rafael, Dalron and Andrew Gooden (who most people think will commit to Kansas).

We've been wrong before, but we're willing to bet that Rafael's going to New Mexico next year.

Stay tuned.
