Southern Pacific Shootout: ARC Roster--(Sept 17, 1998)

The ARC team is currently scheduled to play over at the Southern Pacific Shootout this weekend. ARC will play the Hoopriddas at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at Del Aire Park, and then they'll face The Hood at 1:30 p.m. also at Del Aire Park. Quite a challenge.

Our friend Ruben Sanchez (Sr.) who also writes for the Net Scout website, and whose son, Ruben Sanchez also plays for the ARC team and for West Hills Chaminade (and he's quite a nice player too), tells us that Rob Ichart, who regularly coaches the ARC team spoke with Eric Rowher last Tuesday to confirm that Eric would be attending, and we understand that he said nothing about his aunt's wedding. Maybe Mrs. Rowher relented and decided to let Eric stay and play or maybe he won't. In any event, it's a family event (and really none of our business either) so we wouldn't be surprised either way. We will, however, say that Eric is one seriously under-recruited player right now, and there are some major colleges waiting to get into the act (a couple we know about but can't identify). If he does play, you won't want to miss the games, especially to see him go up against Tyson Chandler and The Hood.

The ARC team is sort of a combo team and it has players from both of last week's Fall Hoops Classic squads, where ARC entered two teams, one the LA team and the other the "Valley-ARC" team. We're not sure what to make of the identity of the coach of this one, but we are told it will be Kevin Christian (Pat's son). Whether Rob Ichart will be on the bench remains to be seen.

We're relatively certain that you'll also see some of these players over at the Pump Discovery Shootout as well. For example, while Campbell Hall had originally intended to enter a team at the Pump Shootout, they won't so now some of their players will play "unattached" and they'll be put on various "single player" teams. So we'd expect to see Josh Levy (6'-4" Sr. SG), a transfer from West Hills Chaminade to Campbell Hall playing over at CSDominguez with some of his new Campbell Hall buddies. Likewise, Michel brothers also typically play at the Pump events (with school teammates Brandon Fullove and Raphael Berumen) too--look for them on one or another of the Pump-N-Run teams. We'll have an update soon.
