Josh Glass Will Be A Hurricane--(Aug. 6, 1998)
Josh Glass (6'-0" Fr. PG), who recently graduated from Campbell Hall, and who was seriously under-recruited, will play at the University of Miami, Florida this next season as a walk-on, with a shot at getting a scholarship next season, or possibly a partial this year if one or two incoming players fail to qualify. We spoke to Josh this morning and he was excited about the prospect of playing in the Big East with a great team, and from our perspective, a lot of Pac-10, WAC (or whatever it's called now), and WCC coaches will be kicking themselves for not signing him.
Josh averaged 22.4 points per game, 10th in the Southern Section among Valley area schools. He averaged 5.5 rebounds per game, had the 3rd highest per game steals average with 7.8 per game (the two guys who tied for first and second, had 7.9 per game) and he was selected First Team All-CIF Southern Section Division V.
Josh will join Paulo Coelho (6'-2" Fr. G) from Figueira da Foz, Portugal, Kevin Houston (6'-4" Jr. SG/SF) from Brooklyn, N.Y. who played at Seward County (Kansans) Community College, John Salmons (6'-6" Fr. F) from Plymouth Meeting, Pa.'s Plymouth Whitemarsh High, and another SoCal product, Michael Simmons (6'-0" Fr. G) originally from Rialto, who played last year at Mercersburg Academy.
