Stuff We've Added--(Aug. 28, 1998)
We've been getting lots of mail lately from folks asking us to update our tournament listings, so we've now completely revised the SoCalHoops Tournaments pages, dividing them so they are more easily read, in true chronological order. Tournaments, leagues, shootouts and events from all over SoCal, from the late summer of 1998, through the fall, and well into next year. For prior events, we've created two archives, a 1998 Tournament Archive, and a 1997 Tournament Archive. These archives provide dates, times, and other information about the event and the organizers, and are useful for planning future schedules (if you're a player, coach or just a fan) because many of these events are run every year at or about the same time.
For more detailed information about some of the major multi-day events that we've showcased over the past year, we've created a Special Tournament Archive section with all of the past articles on the MLK Challenge, the Nike Extravaganza, The Snapple Eddie Jones All Star Classic, the Southern Section CIF and State Championships and Playoffs, and soon we'll have archives for the Reebok Holiday Classic, the Pump Best of Summer, West Coast All Stars, and more.
Other Stuff We've Recently Added: Check out the link on our "National High Schools--Girls" page for "Fifth Quarter Press", a site devoted to Indiana High School Girls' Basketball and recruiting. It's really very nice, and has links to tons of stuff related to Indiana Girls' hoops, and there's even some stuff for coaches looking to connect and gather resources.
You also don't want to miss checking out the new website for ARC (American Roundball Corporation), a great instructional league, tournament organization, and training academy. Rich Goldberg promises more for the site, and more great stuff from the ARC program. Right now the site is a bit rudimentary, but it will slowly but surely get better, that is if Brian Breslin (who we hear worked feverishly to get the site up and running) has anything to say about it.
There will be many other additions to SoCalHoops in coming weeks, including increased coverage from San Diego, Orange County, Ventura County, Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, Bakersfield, the Inland Empire, and more.
