Rim Rattler Camp All-Star Team Selections--(July 20, 1998)

We could have sworn we already put this up, but according to a search of our recent articles, seems we must have neglected it. And a couple of people wrote to remind us that we'd forgotten to post it, and we want to thank Don Will, who's over at Chapman College for sending us the list of the All-Star teams at Rim Rattler. Not to make excuses, but we've been pretty busy lately, covering the West Coast All Star Camps and getting ready for the JC Shootout, the Slam-N-Jam NIT, the Big Time and the Best of Summer stuff, not to mention some of the camps following the craziness of July, including Snow Valley's second session from August 2-7, and the JCC Maccabi Games in Detroit August 14 through the 24th, so we didn't get to spend a whole lot of time doing reports from Rim Rattler. And there's also the little matter of actually having to work (that's right, at a real job) while all this is going on. But that's another story.

If you want to see some of the profiles of the guys who didn't make it over to the West Coast All Star Camp who played at Rim Rattler, Michael Miller over at WestCoastHoops.com did a pretty good job of letting us all in on who showed and how they looked.

Rim Rattler also had an all-star game, and there were some very good players named to the two teams. Some of them, notably Gilbert Arenas (6'-4" Sr. G/F) also played over at West Coast All-Stars, and from the college coaches we spoke with who attended both, they thought he was playing much better at WC All-Stars; a bit too much clowning around and lack of defense when he played at Rim Rattler. We don't know, since we only saw Gil at West Coast All-Stars. But we can also report that he did his fair share of playing loose and clowning at the Pump Camp as well. Of course, he also showed why he's one of the top players on the West Coast too.

Anyway, here's the list of Rim Rattler All-Stars, from the two teams selected from all of the guys at the camp:
