Springs Classic: More Heat From
The Living Desert--(July 7, 1998)
Our friends out at Palm Springs High, coach Paul Barton and assistant coach Randy Small, let us know about yet another in the series of tournaments taking place this summer out in Palm Springs. Hey, it's way too hot to go outside there anyway at this time of year, so what better to be doing than watching basketball. And the gym is even air-conditioned. Cool.
This weekend's tournament run from Friday to Sunday.
Friday's first round:
Camarillo vs. Newport
Harbor 1:00 pm
winner to play Peninsula @ 5:00
Coachella vs. Silverado 1:00 pm
winner to play Harvard-Westlake @ 5:00
Palm Springs vs. Littlerock 2:00 pm
winner to play Serra @ 6:00
Palm Desert vs. Banning 2:00 pm
winner to play University City (SD) @ 6:00
Mary Star of Sea vs. Beaumont 3:00
winner to play Colony (Alaska) @ 7:00
Magnolia vs. St. Monica 3:00
winner to play Rancho Verde @ 7:00
Birmingham vs. La Quinta 4:00
winner to play Santa Ynez @ 8:00
Indio vs. North Torrance 4:00
winner to play Chadwick @ 8:00
Each team is guaranteed 4 games, the championship game is scheduled to be at 3:00 on Sunday afternoon.
