Nike National Championships:
Portland Legends Rosters--(July 30, 1998)

Yesterday, we posted the rosters for the Arizona Stars I, II and III teams, in our effort to put up most of the rosters for the teams playing at the Nike National Championships, which got underway this morning at 10:00 a.m.

We previously wrote about the Portland Legends, and gave you their rosters during last weeks' Slam-N-Jam NIT, along with a lot of other "Northwest" rosters, but now it's time for a more discrete report.

Here's who the Portland Legends had at the Slam-N-Jam, and who we anticipate they'll bring. Look for the Portland I team, but again, if there are any injuries, or kids need to leave or can't make it for some reason, some of the II guys will probably get the call. Then again, we're pretty sure that we'll hear from someone who was at the BCI and saw the Legends team there.

Portland Legends I

Larry Brazzle (6'-7" Sr. F) Benson--good handle, very athletic, with nice post moves
Andre Lawrence (6'-1" Sr. G) Jefferson--nice player, good handle, passes and shoots well
Brandon Brooks (6'-0" Jr. G) Grant-- very good point, handles, passes, drives , shoots does almost
everything very well
Tiante Tims (5'-11" Sr. G) Wilson-- good athlete, pushes the break well, passes and drives
John Pete (5'-11" Sr. G) Roosevelt--very fast, plays the transition game well, with nice shot
Elliot Alexander (6'-3" Sr. G) North Salem--good shot, moves well without ball, plays good defense
Elijah Jackson (6'-4" Sr. G/F) Wilson--good shooter, nice post moves, very athletic and strong player
Colin Oriard (6'-6' Sr. F) Crescent Valley-- strong, runs well, rebounds
Ben Coffee (6'-7" Sr. F) Benson-- very athletic, nice handle for a big guy, shoots and passes well.
Nick Gibbs (6'-9" Sr. F/C) Centennial-- ok player, didn't see too much of him, but rebounds ok
Josh Atkins (6'-6" Sr. F) Barlow-- a football player with D-I potential, widebody type, runs well
Jon Tinnon (6'-7" Jr. F) Benson-- decent post up player, ok shot from inside
