Providence
High Summer League
Continues Today--(June 25, 1998)
The Providence High Summer League will continue play today as Buckley will face Providence in the first varsity game; other teams participating are Bell-Jeff which has transfer Mike Yildiz (6'-0" So. SG) and a new assitant coach in Brian Comacho, formerly the JV coach at Chaminade last year. And Bell-Jeff coach Eli Essa is excited about one of their new players, Romel Cabrera (5'-8" Fr. PG). Cabrerra has played on the ARC 14's traveling squad, and in addition to a nice shot has very quick feet and hands, and plays very aggressive defense. We saw Bell-Jeff take on Viewpoint on Tuesday, and Bell-Jeff looks good, even without their leading assist player Chris Jones, who was not in the lineup Tuesday and is not playing summer league this year. The games continue every Tuesday and Wednesday at Providence High, located just off the 134 Freeway in Burbank across the street from the Disney Studio.
