La Verne To Get Mulville; Boesel to USD--(June 16, 1998)
University of La Verne has named Daniel Mulville as the interim men's basketball coach, replacing Terry Boesel, who has taken a coaching position at the University of San Diego. Mulville had been an assistant at La Verne for the last three seasons. "I am very pleased that we will be maintaining continuity in our basketball with the hiring of Dan," La Verne Athletic Director Jim Paschal said. "He has served the program loyally, and has the ability to lead this team in the right direction. I am confident he will do a great job and will continue to demand academic achievement and athletic excellence from his players."
As the recruiting coordinator for the Leopards, Mulville was instrumental in bringing in the talent to help La Verne to an 18-7 record record last year. "I am sad to lose Coach Boesel, but excited at the new challenges of being the head coach," Mulville said. "Coach Boesel has been a great mentor, and I expect to handle things very similarly to him. I hope to continue the progress we have made the last three years." Mulville will start as head coach on July 1. He will also conntinue on as Sports Information Director. His interim status will be reevaluated after the upcoming season.
