Alemany Retires Jersey of Kobayashi--(June 6, 1998)

Well, the news isn't entirely all bad from Alemany High. Yesterday, Alemany announced that it retired the uniform number of girls' basketball player Kelli Kobayashi. Kobayashi, who wore No. 12, became the fifth Indian player to receive the honor. The two-time All-Valley point guard led Alemany to three Southern Section finals, including last season, when the Indians captured the Division III-AA title and advanced to the state championship game. Kobayashi, who set a school career record with 240 three-point baskets, has committed to Cal State Los Angeles.
