Just-Say-No
League Gets
Going Next Friday--(June 11, 1998)
Next Friday, June 19, 1998, at Los Angeles Trade Tech, the first game in the Just-Say- No Classic gets underway at 6:00 p.m. There will be three games on Friday, and then the league gets under full swing on Saturday, and Sunday, with the games running from 10:00 a.m. until 8 p.m. all at LA Trade Tech.
More than 60 NBA players, including Reggie Miller, Elden Campbell, Byron Russell, Byron Scott, Tracy Murray and Pooh Richardson, have played in the league, which was formerly called the Southern California College Open. This summer, the league will feature players such as Arthur Lee (Stanford/North Hollywood High), Jaron and Jason Collins (Stanford/Harvard Westlake), Jason Hartman (Portland State/Thousand Oaks), Ruben Douglas (Arizona/ Bell-Jeff), Jelani Gardner (Pepperdine), Pharoah Davis (Utah State/Highland), Greg Minor and a bunch of other CSUN players including Derrick Higgins, Markus Carr, Andre Larry, Hewitt Rolle and Bradley Jackson.
The Just-Say-No Classic Championship game will be played on August 9. In the interim, play will continue all summer, and best of all, admission to the games is free. The bad licorice, candy and cokes will cost you though.
If you need further information on the league, call (213) 930-1945.
