High School Month:
Tournaments Start In Earnest Friday--(June 15, 1998)
June really is "high school" month, in the same way that July is summer camp and traveling team tournament month. We've already written about the two Mater Dei Tournaments, the first of which is starting this week. There's the 1998 Seahawk Summer Classic, also being played this weekend at Redondo Union High School, and then there is the Cathedral City Desert Classic being played down near Palm Springs, featuring teams such as Cathedral City, Palm Desert, A.B. Miller, Anaheim, Apple Valley, Artesia, Ayala (which is also playing in the Palm Springs Sumemr Classic), Banning (which is supposed to be at the Redondo tourney??), Beaumont, Big Bear, Bishop Diego, Burroughs/Ridgecrest, Canyon (Anaheim), Cerritos, Chadwick, Coachella Valley, Desert Christian, East Valley, El Segundo, Fullerton, Garces/Bakersfield, Indio, La Quinta, Los Amigos, Newbury Park, Ocean View, Pacifica, Palo Verde, Pioneer, Rancho Cucamonga, San Dimas, Serrano, Servite, Sultana, Temescal Canyon, Victor Valley, Wilson, and Yucca Valley.
In addition to that, summer leagues get officially underway, and there will be some great competition going on nightly throughout SoCal that you won't want to miss.
