CapoValley Gets New Girls' Coach--(June 3, 1998)
This guy just has to be at a school with the initials "CV". From Crescenta Valley to Capistrano Valley--Marc Ward, who compiled a 118-24 record while guiding Crescenta Valley High to four Pacific League championships in five years and coached UCLA-bound standout Michelle Greco for her first three high school seasons, has accepted a position at Capistrano Valley High as girls' basketball coach. Ward resigned as Crescenta Valley coach after the 1997 season but has remained at the school as a teacher. "It was just the right fit," Ward told the LA Times of his new job, which will include teaching wood shop. "It was the first time Capistrano Valley had a shop opening in 20 years, and I was looking to get back into coaching." Ward is replacing walk-on coach Pete Belanto. Now he'll also be able to see Nate Hair and JJ Sola play who have both transferred to CapoValley for next season.
