Oxnard Signs Two Southern Gentlemen--(May 13, 1998)

Oxnard College, one of three JUCO's in the Ventura Community College District (and now one of only two JC's in the District after former State Champion Ventura College suspended it's program last year indefinitely after recruiting and player violations) , has signed two players from the Atlanta area: Tellis Knight (6'-5" Sr F) from Mayes High School, Darren Calhoun (6'-3" Sr G) from Banneker High School. No word yet on whether Danny Herrera, who formerly played with Ventura and then was permitted to play with Oxnard last season will return.
