Corey Hightower Will Attend JC--(May 19, 1998)

This is not really "new" news, nor does it concern SoCal, but our favorite Mt. Zion player, Corey Hightower (6'-6" Sr. F) has decided to attend Indiana Hills Junior College in Iowa. Hightower was on everyone's lists of the top 100 senior players in the country, and he already has an NBA body, with great athletic ability. Many colleges were recruiting him, but he failed to qualify under NCAA eligibility rules. While rumors also had him possibly going pro, it looks like he's done the smart thing, and opted for at least one or two years of seasoning before looking at a D-I opportunity.
